Elle turned 18 months two weeks ago! Time seriously goes by way too fast. I can't even believe it.

In January we…..

took Elle to a BYU basketball game. She was on cloud nine!

We got there late and left a little early (parent life haha) but every time the crowd cheered, she would stop whatever she was doing and start clapping and yelling. It was the cutest!

We also met up with one of Tyler's favorite old roommates and his wife to go to the Jazz game. We had so much fun with them!

And lastly, we went skiing/snowboarding. This is one of our favorite things to do together (maybe because it's the only sport I can keep up with him at). We are living proof that skiier/snowboarder marriages DO work ;)

This month we went to the new Provo City Center Temple open house (twice!) and it is the most stunning temple I have ever been to. I keep asking Tyler if we can renew our vows there - haha totally kidding. But totally jealous of all of the brides who get this beauty in the background of their wedding pics!

This month Elle has started to really catch onto some things. She LOVES music and I always catch her singing, humming, and my very favorite - she copies the chorister at church and waves her arms all around like she is conducting the music. It is my favorite. She is my favorite!

She has gotten even more busy (if that is even possible) and is obsessed with saying "no". She does it in the sassiest little tone I can't help but laugh when she says it. Ohhhh we are in for it with this one! She is my best little friend and I love watching her personality grow and develop every day.

She is such a sweetheart and although she tests my patience when she turns down 17 things for lunch every day until we resort to macaroni and chesse (so much for healthy eating) I sure love this little babe.

We had some family pictures taken back in November and I'm finally just getting around to posting them! My cute friend Hanna from Blush Creative that I know from BYU-I took them for us and she is SO talented. She took ours last fall too! She was so nice to do them for us because she is about to have her first little baby girl. After taking our pictures I am sure she was second guessing things because Elle was so grumpy - isn't that how it goes? Things never go as planned when you want them to go perfectly - haha!

We were planning to take our pictures up in this beautiful field in the mountains. The day we chose ended up getting a huge blizzard. We tried to wait it out and as a result, Elle got grumpy, hungry, and tired. With 20 minutes left until sunset, Hanna found a random park that we snapped a few pictures in. It was such a disaster but of course Hanna always gets things to turn out! We love these photos and will cherish them forever.

The past few months have been so crazy but so fun! It started out with us taking a road trip to Des Moines, Iowa at the beginning of January for a medical school interview. We left Elle at home with my family and even though I missed my baby, daily picture updates (like this one with her hair french braided - I died) helped me through!

Tyler and I had a lot of fun together listening to a million Dave Ramsey podcasts, talking, and laughing all the way there. It was such a painfully long drive (16 hours) and there was not much to look at. Once we got through the barren fields to Des Moines, I loved the city! This school was high up on Tyler's wish list so I wanted to go with him to get a feel for the city in case he were to get in.

While Tyler was in his interview I decided to go to Goodwill and another store I love called Once Upon A Child that has used baby clothes. I SCORED. I called my mom and said, "If we ever end up living here I am going to be so happy with all the thrift stores here!" I got Elle like 15 things all in brand new condition from Gap for $25. I was feelin so good about it!

I also saw this baby at Goodwill for $40 and was so sad that I had no way to get it home. I seriously looked at it for 10 minutes trying to think about how I could get it home.

We found out a few weeks ago that Tyler got into the Des Moines medical school! I am SO proud of him! He has worked so hard and has truly overcome so many obstacles along this entire journey. It's a relief that we have at least one acceptance and to know that his dream of becoming a doctor is coming true! Tyler is on 4 wait lists (two in California and two in Arizona) and we won't hear back from the University of Utah until at least March. We both really like Des Moines though and the med school is a great one so there is a good chance we will end up there in the fall.

We still have a LONG way to go in this whole journey but I'm grateful for Tyler and so proud of him. He is such a hard worker and is an amazing husband and father. I love you Ty!!
