While in California we went to Crystal Cove (which was bittersweet for me because that's the beach I grew up going to when my family would vacation to Newport Beach) and we decided to take a few family pictures!

The Vances are very spontaneous and we got lucky that our outfits that we wore to church earlier that day kind of went together without any sort of planning.

I love that the Vances LOVE taking pictures just like I do (minus Ty haha). Becky took my camera and took some pictures of Tyler, Elle and I playing around at the beach. I love these pictures so much and will always cherish them. I love my family and feel so grateful to have made such wonderful memories with them during this trip.

These two kill me!! Always playing together. Tyler is the greatest to her.

I lucked out in the in-law department! Saying goodbye and getting back to real life is always hard. We miss them so much already!!!

Last week we went up to Canada to visit Tyler's family (still need to journal about that trip!) and one night at dinner Tyler's dad suggested we go to California the following week. How could we say no to that?!? Tyler's sister Becky and her husband Scott are moving to Paris next week which means family trips will be a lot different with them being so far away so this was such a fun "last hurrah" with them.

We landed Thurday morning but Tyler's family weren't going to get in until that night so we had a whole day to kill! We love good food so we looked up a fun lunch place we wanted to try and it was to DIE for. It was called Long Beach Fish Grill and if you are ever in the area you will not regret going!

We were in heaven (and so was Elle, haha!).

We then went to the beach for a few hours. It was so warm, but so cloudy!

Elle is OBSESSED with the water and it is so adorable.

Really Elle girl? I can't get enough of her.

We were so excited to take Elle to Disneyland for her first time! A few days before we left I found this blog post that was SO helpful for taking a baby with you to the parks.

We all LOVED using the app Disney Wait Times (I think that's the name?) because it consistently updates the live wait times for each ride in both parks. It was so helpful!

Going to Disneyland with a big family is the best because waiting in line for the rides goes by way fast. These people make me laugh so hard and I loved having so many extra hands that were always willing to hold/play with Elle.

Tyler and I loved that we could take "mini dates" as we called them to go on rides by ourselves. Ty's family was so kind to watch Elle for us so much. (I also had no idea that bringing a baby to Disneyland had so many perks! You can get switch off passes that are good for 3 people to return back to go on the ride. So we loved using those too!)

Elle is 20 months now so she is still young to totally understand Disneyland and all the hype but she still had a blast. She loves people and parties so she was well entertained.

We still have a few more days left here so while Elle is napping today I decided to hurry and journal this because I know the second we get home it won't get done! Until next time Disneyland!

Elle turned 18 months two weeks ago! Time seriously goes by way too fast. I can't even believe it.

In January we…..

took Elle to a BYU basketball game. She was on cloud nine!

We got there late and left a little early (parent life haha) but every time the crowd cheered, she would stop whatever she was doing and start clapping and yelling. It was the cutest!

We also met up with one of Tyler's favorite old roommates and his wife to go to the Jazz game. We had so much fun with them!

And lastly, we went skiing/snowboarding. This is one of our favorite things to do together (maybe because it's the only sport I can keep up with him at). We are living proof that skiier/snowboarder marriages DO work ;)

This month we went to the new Provo City Center Temple open house (twice!) and it is the most stunning temple I have ever been to. I keep asking Tyler if we can renew our vows there - haha totally kidding. But totally jealous of all of the brides who get this beauty in the background of their wedding pics!

This month Elle has started to really catch onto some things. She LOVES music and I always catch her singing, humming, and my very favorite - she copies the chorister at church and waves her arms all around like she is conducting the music. It is my favorite. She is my favorite!

She has gotten even more busy (if that is even possible) and is obsessed with saying "no". She does it in the sassiest little tone I can't help but laugh when she says it. Ohhhh we are in for it with this one! She is my best little friend and I love watching her personality grow and develop every day.

She is such a sweetheart and although she tests my patience when she turns down 17 things for lunch every day until we resort to macaroni and chesse (so much for healthy eating) I sure love this little babe.

We had some family pictures taken back in November and I'm finally just getting around to posting them! My cute friend Hanna from Blush Creative that I know from BYU-I took them for us and she is SO talented. She took ours last fall too! She was so nice to do them for us because she is about to have her first little baby girl. After taking our pictures I am sure she was second guessing things because Elle was so grumpy - isn't that how it goes? Things never go as planned when you want them to go perfectly - haha!

We were planning to take our pictures up in this beautiful field in the mountains. The day we chose ended up getting a huge blizzard. We tried to wait it out and as a result, Elle got grumpy, hungry, and tired. With 20 minutes left until sunset, Hanna found a random park that we snapped a few pictures in. It was such a disaster but of course Hanna always gets things to turn out! We love these photos and will cherish them forever.
